$30,532 Awarded to Six Shiawassee County Entrepreneurs Through Eastern Michigan Small Business Network’s Small Business Grant Program October 15, 2024 The Eastern Michigan Small Business Network (EM-SBN) is pleased to announce it has completed its first round of funding for the Small Business Grant Program in Region 6. The grant program has awarded funds to small businesses in Shiawassee, Lapeer, Tuscola, Huron, Sanilac, and St. Clair counties to support their growth and development. Over 500 small businesses applied for 2024 grant funding across the region. The recipients for this year’s funding in Shiawassee County include: Campbell's Creekside Farms $5,500.00 Bennington Township Dabble! $5,070.69 City of Durand Fitness Coliseum $5,349.88 City of Owosso Fortitude Farms and Events, Inc. $4,999.00 Bennington Township Tank's Tavern LLC $4,123.24 City of Laingsburg The Blue Lotus Potter LLC $5,489.54 Village of Vernon “We were excited to promote and support this grant program that is going to accelerate the growth of six great small businesses in a variety of industries and from across the county. We are grateful for the support of the Eastern Michigan Small Business Network and all of the partners involved and look forward to more resources coming to Shiawassee County to help our local entrepreneurs,” said Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership President/CEO Justin Horvath. A second round of grants will be awarded in 2025. The 2024 Small Business grant program is being administered by the Economic Development Alliance (EDA) of St. Clair County, Michigan. The EDA is working closely with participating Region 6 partners and key partners such as the MI-SBDC to successfully promote and administer this grant opportunity.
