$36,004 Awarded to Five Shiawassee County Entrepreneurs Through Eastern Michigan Small Business Network’s Small Business Grant Program

The Eastern Michigan Small Business Network (EM-SBN) is pleased to announce it has completed its second round of funding for Region 6 small businesses in Shiawassee, Lapeer, Tuscola, Huron, Sanilac, and St. Clair Counties to support their growth and development. Over 460 small businesses in the region applied for 2026 grant funding, including 69 Shiawassee County companies.

The recipients for this year’s funding in Shiawassee County include:

“We were excited to promote and support this grant program that is going to accelerate the growth of five great small businesses from across Shiawassee County, and are particularly excited to see the impact it will have on our supporting our local agricultural industry which is a huge part of our county’s heritage. Thank you to the Eastern Michigan Small Business Network for their support,” said Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership President/CEO Justin Horvath.

The grant program is being administered by the Economic Development Alliance (EDA) of St. Clair County, Michigan. The EDA is working closely with participating Region 6 economic development agencies and other key partners such as the MI-SBDC to successfully promote and administer this grant opportunity.

Companies that meet the Small Business Administration’s definition of a small business are eligible except for non-profits. Eligible expenses can include new equipment or furnishings, inventory, software purchases or upgrades, specialized consulting services, and training.
