Assembly Solar, the $250 million Solar Farm Development in Hazelton and Venice Townships in Shiawassee County, Moving Forward and Workers Are Needed to Begin the Project

McCarthy Building Companies, which is serving as general contractor for the developer Ranger Power, will be in the community on October 29th and 30th to meet with individuals who are interested in employment. Specifically, they are looking to fill positions for:

  • Pile Drivers
  • General Labor
  • Operator / forklift driver
  • Survey / layout

It is expected that up to 250 people will eventually be hired for the project, which will last into 2021. Pay starts at $15/hour, and could be more depending on experience (on the job training will be provided). Additional benefits include medical, paid time off, retirement savings, and seven paid holidays (starting in 2020).

The schedule to meet with McCarthy representatives is as follows:

Tuesday, October 29th

1:00 – 3:00 pm – GST Michigan Works (1975 W. M-21, Owosso)

3:00 – 6:00 pm – Owosso Armory (215 N Water St, Owosso)

Wednesday, October 30th

8:00 am – 12:00 pm – Owosso Armory (215 N Water St, Owosso)
