Custom Transporters Receives Approval for Rezoning, Moves Forward With Warehousing Facility
August 16, 2019
On Thursday, August 15th the Shiawassee County
Board of Commissioners voted to approve a rezoning request for a site on the
corner of M-52 and Tyrell Rd. The request was made by Custom Transporters, who
is seeking to build a 4,000 square foot storage facility on the site. The rezoning
is limited to cold storage activities, based on conditions offered by the
company.
Custom Transporters is an Ohio-based logistics provider who has been working in
Shiawassee County serving Crest Marine. The new facility will serve as short
term storage for boats on their way to dealers across the country.
“I am excited to be able to move forward with this project and would like to
thank the commissioners for their support,” said Custom Transporters owner
Jason Gardiner. “The site puts us in excellent proximity to our customer just
up the road and gives us direct access to the highway.”
“We are happy to welcome Jason and Custom Transporters to Shiawassee County,”
said Justin Horvath, President/CEO of the Shiawassee Economic Development
Partnership who provided assistance on the project. “As we continue to see,
Shiawassee County’s transportation assets keep our community in demand for the
logistics industry.”
