Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership has awarded their Project of the Year award to Memorial Healthcare for the new 115,000 square-foot NOW Building at Memorial’s main campus. The Project of the Year, sponsored by Consumers Energy, serves to recognize a new or expanding business in Shiawassee County that creates a significant positive impact on the local economy. The building houses Memorial’s Institute for Neuroscience, Center for Orthopedics, Outpatient Rehabilitation, Clinical Research, 3T MRI and Executive Suites. Memorial also offers the community a new fast-casual restaurant, The Big Salad, which features signature salads, wraps, sandwiches, soups, and smoothies. In the near future, this location will also house a retail and specialty pharmacy. The facility also introduces a new medically-based Wellness Center available to members of the community. In addition to cardio and weight training equipment, additional amenities include an indoor track, lap pool, sauna, men’s and women’s steam rooms, and private shower suites. Group classes for Pilates, Yoga, Spin, and High-Intensity Interval Training are also available, as well as personal training and one-on-one nutrition counseling. “Shiawassee County is fortunate to have Memorial Healthcare in our community,” said SEDP President/CEO Justin Horvath. “To have such quality healthcare available locally in a county of our size is a unique asset. Their continued investment and pursuit of excellence makes them a truly deserving recipient of our Project of the Year award.”
