Laingsburg – Prolime, an agribusiness that is constructing the first pelletized lime and gypsum processing facility in Michigan, is the recipient of the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership (SEDP)’s Project of the Year award, sponsored by Consumers Energy.

The company is investing $5.7 million in processing equipment and a new 38,000 square foot building located in Woodhull Township, and is expected to create 15-20 new jobs.

The Project of the Year serves to recognize a new or expanding business in Shiawassee County that creates a significant positive impact on the local economy. Representatives from Consumers Energy and the SEDP made the selection from multiple candidates. Prolime will also be honored during a presentation at the SEDP annual meeting, to be held June 21 at Fortitude in Bennington Township.
