SEDP Annual Meeting Recaps 2025 Achievements and Previews Strategic Plan Update March 4, 2026 SEDP Board Chair Bryan Marks addresses the audience at the 2026 Annual Meeting The Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership (SEDP) convened its Annual Meeting on February 25, 2026, at the Baker College Welcome Center in Owosso, bringing together partners and stakeholders to celebrate recent accomplishments, recognize standout projects, and share forward-looking insights on regional priorities. The annual meeting program was sponsored by Consumers Energy and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). The meeting included the surprise announcement of SEDP’s Project of the Year, sponsored by ITC and awarded to Ventek Solutions. The award was accepted on behalf of the company by Aaron Smith, recognizing Ventek Solutions’ investments in their facility and equipment in 2025, with efficiency improvements that resulted in a $746,937 rebate from Consumers Energy. The program also featured a keynote address from Lindsey McGuirk of Consumers Energy, who shared insights on trends shaping the energy industry, including how changes in technology, demand, and infrastructure are influencing business decisions and community planning. Looking ahead, Matt Chambers of Resource Development Group provided an overview of SEDP’s pending strategic plan update, outlining the process underway and the opportunities the updated plan will create to refine SEDP’s direction and strengthen alignment with regional needs.
