SEDP Hosts Housing Development Summit With 100 in Attendance July 31, 2019 SEDP President/CEO presents to the attendees of the Housing Summit on July 30th, 2019. On Tuesday, July 30th the SEDP convened stakeholders from across the development world to discuss housing growth in Shiawassee County. Attendees included housing developers, contractors, landowners, and financiers. The goal of the event was to introduce the market need for new homes in the community and facilitate networking among partners who can make these deals a reality. “Talent has been the number one concern of our employers for the past several years,” said SEDP President/CEO Justin Horvath. “One way we are hoping to address this need is to increase our population. To achieve this, having quality available housing of all types will be vital.” The program included presentations from multiple agencies who support housing through various grants, loans, and other support such as US Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Michigan State Housing Development Authority, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Michigan Land Bank, and Saginaw Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity.
