Shiawassee County Homeowner Rehabilitation Grant Program Now Taking Applications September 9, 2026 Shiawassee County Homeowner Rehabilitation Grant is now officially taking applications. The program will fund repairs including, but not limited to: Roofing Furnace Water Heater ADA Accessibility Eligible homeowners will own the property with a warranty deed, be current on mortgage and taxes, water and electric service turned on, homeowners’ insurance in place for replacement value of the home and have no reverse mortgage on the property. Additionally, household income must be below the following limits: Mobile homes will not be eligible for the program. There will be three application assistance days scheduled throughout the county for interested homeowners. Applicants can begin by submitting the pre-application through the portal assigned to each assistance day: Application Assistance Day 1 – September 17th, 2026 – 201 N Shiawassee St, Corunna Preapplication for Application Assistance Day 1 Application Assistance Day 2 – October 13th, 2026 – 215 W Clinton St, Durand Preapplication for Application Assistance Day 2 Application Assistance Day 3 – November 9th, 2026 – 2770 Ellsworth Rd, Perry Preapplication for Application Assistance Day 3 Once you have completed a preapplication, program staff will contact you to set up an appointment to review your preapplication and discuss next steps.
