Wheeler Trucking To Host Two Informational Forums On New Corporate Headquarters Construction Opportunity January 15, 2016 Wheeler Trucking, a truck hauler located in Hazelton Township (New Lothrop), is expanding quickly and wants to build a corporate headquarters to accommodate their business growth, including office space for their employees (estimated at 10,000 square feet) and a maintenance shop to service their fleet (estimated at 20,000 square feet). They have already acquired and rezoned nearly 40 acres of land northwest of the intersection of M-13 and Easton Rd. in the township for the new facility. “We are excited to be investing and growing quality jobs right here in Hazelton Township (New Lothrop) and Shiawassee County, with this headquarters providing a home for our hard-working employees and it will also help keep our trucks running in top condition,” said company owner Rex Wheeler. Wheeler would like to invite anyone that would be interested in working on this project (architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, etc.) to a kickoff event where you can meet Rex and his leadership team and learn more about the business and specifics on their building needs. The meeting will be strictly informational, with an opportunity to provide formal proposals afterward. “Our hope is to meet lots of good folks that would like to be part of this project, and then begin the process of identifying who we will work with to make our vision become a reality,” Wheeler added. “Wheeler Trucking is one of our fastest growing, most successful companies in Shiawassee County, and Rex and his team are great people to work with,” said Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership President/CEO Justin Horvath. “We encourage anyone involved in the construction process to participate in one of these events,” Horvath added. Two forums will be held, one on Monday, February 1st at 9:00 am, and the second on Monday, February 8th at 9:00 am. The location of both will be in the barn across the street from their current offices (7450 Sheridan Road, Flushing, MI 48433). RSVPs are requested for planning purposes. You may do so by calling (989) 725-9241 or emailingjhorvath@sedpweb.org.
