HR & Administrative Services Coordinator Posted January 20, 2026 Perry Area Fire & Rescue Website Location: Perry Full Time Position Salary Range: $50,042.52-$53114.88 Job Description Position Description Title: HR & Administrative Services Coordinator Reports To: Emergency Services Chief FLSA Status: Exempt Salary: $50,042.52 to $53,114.88 Benefits: Full Medical Coverage (80/20 share), Vacation, Personal Leave Position Summary The HR & Administrative Services Coordinator provides comprehensive support to Southwest Shiawassee Emergency Services Authority (SSESA) in the areas of human resources, EMS billing, organizational safety programs, and hospital transfer coordination. This position ensures compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures while promoting efficiency, accountability, and professionalism across the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Human Resources Administer and maintain personnel records, benefits, and payroll-related documentation. Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and separation processes. Assist with scheduling, employee evaluations, and training records management. Serve as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries and assist leadership with employee relations matters. Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, department policies, and collective bargaining agreements (if applicable). EMS Billing & Administrative Services Oversee EMS billing processes, including claim submission, reconciliation, and follow-up on outstanding accounts. Coordinate with billing vendors, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues. Track and report EMS billing performance, collections, and revenue trends. Provide general administrative support including correspondence, recordkeeping, and report preparation. Safety Program Support Assist with development, documentation, and tracking of organizational safety initiatives and training. Monitor compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and other regulatory standards. Support the Safety Officer in scheduling and documenting required safety drills, inspections, and corrective actions. Hospital Transfer Coordination Serve as liaison with Memorial Hospital to support coordination of interfacility transfers. Track and report hospital transfer activity, trends, and issues to leadership. Work with operations staff to improve efficiency and reduce barriers to hospital transfer requests. Other Other duties as assigned by the Emergency Services Chief Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Knowledge of HR principles, labor regulations, and employment law. Familiarity with EMS billing practices, insurance claim processes, and HIPAA requirements. Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or equivalent). Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support multiple functional areas. Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of experience in human resources, medical billing, or administrative services. Experience in public safety, EMS, or healthcare environment preferred. Valid Michigan driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Working Conditions Primarily office-based with periodic travel to stations, training sites, and hospitals.
