This session will provide an overview of several of the state's primary housing funding resources and how they can be leveraged together to maximize project feasibility. Topics will include: Michigan State Housing Development Authority's (MSHDA) Mi Neighborhoods Housing and Community Development Fund (HCDF), which provides funding for both nonprofit and for-profit developers to support vertical housing construction Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) opportunities available to municipalities that can partner with developers to fund public infrastructure and, in certain cases, support housing-related development initiatives Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) funding programs that support mixed-use developments with residential components the strategic use of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) as part of a layered capital stack.
