Unlocking Commercial and Residential Energy Savings: A Lunch & Learn Presented and Sponsored by Consumers Energy Wednesday, September 16th Event starts at Duration: 1.5 hours Details The Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership (SEDP) is partnering with Consumers Energy to bring you a lunch and learn to discuss both residential and commercial energy efficiency programs. Michelle Pittell will be speaking about Consumers Energy's Residential Energy Efficiency offerings through the Helping Neighbors Program. As a program manager, Michelle works to connect income-qualified homeowners with energy-saving improvements that can help lower energy costs, improve comfort, and enhance the safety and efficiency of their homes. She will also discuss how the program partners with municipalities, community agencies, and nonprofit organizations to leverage rebates, incentives, and other opportunities. Through strategic fund braiding and collaboration, these partnerships help maximize energy efficiency investments and expand access to services for residents and communities across Michigan. Robert Magryta will be speaking about Consumers Energy's Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency offerings through their business incentive programs. He works to connect large and small businesses with a wide range of energy-saving upgrades from LED lighting and HVAC systems to food service equipment, refrigeration, and more helping reduce energy costs for the life of the new equipment. Robert will provide an overview of the program's history, benefits, and application process, including building evaluations that identify improvement opportunities and estimate available rebate funds. He will also highlight specialty programs such as the Building Operators Certification, which empowers facility managers to identify inefficiencies and implement energy-saving changes within their own buildings. Through dedicated account managers serving education, medical, retail, industrial, and government sectors, as well as direct partnerships with contractors and distributors and supplemental financing options through Michigan Saves, these programs are designed to make energy efficiency accessible and impactful for every business across Michigan.
