Residents, businesses, and government officials in the New Lothrop area are invited to attend a forum on March 7, from 7-9 pm, at the New Lothrop Village Hall (9434 Beech St).
The purpose of the program is to provide information on available local, state and federal tools to help drive economic prosperity in the community. Organizations scheduled to attend and present include:
Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership – The economic development organization serving Shiawassee County, focused on business attraction, retention and expansion activities.
Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce – A voluntary, non-profit organization of over 550 member organizations that serves as a representative and advocate for small businesses in Shiawassee County.
Michigan Economic Development Corporation – The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is a public-private partnership serving as the state’s marketing arm and lead agency for business, talent and jobs, tourism, film and digital incentives, arts and cultural grants, and overall economic growth.
Michigan State Housing Development Authority – Established in 1966, provides financial and technical assistance through public and private partnerships to create and preserve safe and decent affordable housing, engage in community economic development activities, develop vibrant cities, towns and villages, and address homeless issues.
Small Business & Technology Development Center – Enhances Michigan’s economic well-being by providing counseling, training, research and advocacy for new ventures, existing small businesses and innovative technology companies.
Small Business Administration – Since its founding on July 30, 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration has delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses.
USDA Rural Development – To support rural regional economic prosperity, USDA Rural Development provides job training and business development opportunities for rural residents, including cooperative business development, community economic development and strategic community planning and faith-based and self-help initiatives.
Rural Community Assistance Program – Efforts by Great Lakes RCAP have resulted in new and improved water, wastewater or solid waste systems in over 900 communities. In addition millions of dollars have been leveraged for facility development.
